Like the poster below, it figures I find this community once it's no longer active and I'm a new sophmore as well. I enrolled in February and have never experienced homeschooling so it was a little tough to set a schedule, not procrastinate, and wrap my head around a few things (especially the math :///) But I'm hoping to tie up these classes by August/September at the latest.
My question is, I'm still a little hesitant and uninformed about Keystone's accredidation. I know they're accredited but when applying to colleges do they just see your transcript as they would see a public highschools? Do schools look at you in a different light because you were schooled online or at home (do they think lesser/more of you)?
I'm interested in applying to an art focused university, and while grades aren't of huge importance sometimes, I would still like to get a good GPA so I can receive scholarships. I'm a little worried and I hope I made the right decision to do this. Has anyone in here attended college or have been accepted to one yet??

Heh. It figures that when I find this place, it's not active anymore. Oh well, I'll try this anyway.
Hi. :) I'm Amanda. I'm technically not enrolled yet, but I will be by the end of next week and I can't wait. I'm supposed to be a junior but because of past mistakes, I'm kind of a sophman.
...bye?

Hi, I'm Gem (well not really, but that's what I prefer people to call me over the internet). I'm a Freshman at Keystone this year and I am taking English 1 Honors, American History, Algebra 1, Physical Science and Multimedia. I love reading, writing, ice skating, movies, music, video games (especially Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, as you can see from my userpics), Harry Potter, debating, and being random. I am, according to my friends: shy, nieve, occasionally hyper, smart, clever, obsessive, entertaining, sometimes funny, easily annoyed, and a little bit weird at times. Heh. Anyways... I can't think of anything else to say. Oh well.

Hey all, my name is Maegan and I have been homeschooled since about the beginning. I used Calvert all the way up to 8th grade and I am a freshman this year in Keystone. I absolutely love it, I actually find it much easier than Calvert, and I love the English lit program. I don't know that many homeschoolers, if you add me I'll add you!

Hi! In an attempt to make up my literature I missed last year due to some issues, I am taking Eng 3 on Keystone. I was wondering if anyone on this board could help me with it a little bit. I have some questions. Thanks so much!

I'm curious, has anyone gotten warnings from the state about school atendance and not enrolling? Or been stopped by truant officers or police officers or.. Been kicked out of clubs? Or anything like that?
I haven't gotten any of this (yet), but I'm just curious if you have, and what happened (because I wanna hear some cool stories! XD)

Hey guys!
I'm very new to this whole keystone thing. I was previously tutored privately because of my health. The town provided me with a teacher. However, they're essentially idiots, and it turned out they didn't get my credits sorted right (or something). For that reason they've started me over in highschool (I should be a sophomore--now i'm a freshman) and we're using keystone to stay organized, but i'm technically a part of my local highschool. (I hope you stayed with me through that. I know I didn't do a wonderful job explaining.)
I just got a few books and i've logged on to get a feel for things. So far i'm completely overwhelmed. I've really got no idea as to what i'm supposed to do...but my tutor will be here Monday, so hopefully she has a clue and we can learn together. My family is probably going to move (out of town) this summer, so i'm hoping to have the system down cold by then. It's really hard getting a tutor who can understand my illness enough to work with me (It took ages to find my current one, who's wonderful). I really don't want to go through the process of finding a new one again, so by that time i'd love to be comfortable enough with this to do it myself and be schooled exclusively through keystone.
Any advice for somebody just starting out? It'd be great if I could have another student explain to me how this really works. They did give me 'real live' books...but i've been told that i'll be doing work online. I've asked repeatedly HOW I do my work, but i'm getting very little explanation.
A quick question...A very basic one. Why is it you've chosen to enroll in Keystone? What's the best part about it? The worst? I'd love hearing what you have to say about it.
By the way...I'm very sorry if any of this is incoherent. It's 5 AM, and I haven't slept. ;o)

Has anyone dropped a course and requested their tuition back? I've dropped all my courses and by their policy I should receive half of my tuition back...
I sent my letter of withdrawl two and half weeks ago. They have already dropped me from all my courses. I'm wondering, will they be cooperative about refunding my tuition or will they give me a hard time about it?

Hello everyone :) My name is Samantha and I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Exciting, I know. lol. I started homeschooling with Keystone my Freshman year of high school because public school was too stressful. I decided Keystone would be a good choice because it's pretty much stress free and I get to work at my own pace which is nice. I'm in the middle of the 10th grade right now and I'm taking: Biology, Earth Science, Geometry, English II, and World History. So far world history has been my favorite subject mainly because the teacher seems nicer and gives more feedback than the others. :p
So anyways, that's about it. You can add me if you want; I don't have any Keystone students on my friends list. If you have questions about Keystone I might be able to help you there too, so feel free to ask away.

| Secure Site |
[08 Dec 2004|11:09am] |
Hi Everyone
I'm new to the community. I'm taking English 1 Honors, World History, Algebra 1 :-x, German 1, and Physical Science.
Whenever the last update that was done to blackboard, they changed the security level of the site and the logging in process which I suppose is needed, with all of the personal information and things of that sort, however I have a Linksys Broadband Router and for some reason the router filters out the keystone login site. Does that make sense?
So I have my wirespeed dsl box, and it's ethernet cord is plugged into the linksys router, and the router is plugged into my PC. I then have a wireless linksys card in my laptop and a wireless antena thing for my other pc in the house.
So I go to www.keystonehighschool.com on any three of the computers and I type in my login information and click login and the site takes FOREVER to load and when it does load it shows an error website saying site not found.. bla bla bla.. so I took the ethernet cord from my dsl wirespeed box and plugged it directly into my main pc and I go to keystone and log in and I have no problems at all. I can access everything and there are no errors.
This creates a problem though because I need to do my work on my laptop in my bedroom but I can't because I can't pick up the Keystone highschool on my laptop because of the router.
Has anyone else had this problem? I need some help with this!
Also, at what level of importance are the journal entries.. are the teachers tough on grading them?
Thanks so much! Melissa
